What is MathXL?
MathXL is an online homework, tutorial and assessment system from publishing giant Pearson. Homework and assessments are graded automatically by the system, but teachers can also use MathXL to manage their entire gradebook, including assignments, projects and tests conducted outside MathXL.
How do I access MathXL?
To log in and access your course:
- Go to www.mathxl.com.
- Enter the login name and password you created during registration.
- Click the option that says “I am taking a course that is using MathXL…”.
- Enter your course ID and confirm that you are enrolling in the correct course.
Can teachers see how much time you spend on Pearson?
Teachers have the option to monitor the amount of time students spend on a course or an activity.
Can Pearson see when you leave the tab?
No website can tell what you do outside of their current page — anything else would be a huge security risk. Thus if you open up another tab with Google or any other non-webcourses site, they can’t see what you do. Note, however, that they can (kind of) tell that you’ve left the page.
